How to Track Instagram and TikTok in Google Search Console in 2026

Social discovery now reaches beyond the app feed. When your account and posts appear in search reporting, the useful question is simple: which queries already bring the right people?

Set up the view

Open Google Search Console, use the property selector, and choose Add property. Select the supported platform and follow its authorization steps. Google’s setup guide lists platform properties for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.

Once data appears, check:

Queries — the words people used
Pages or posts — which content appeared
Clicks — visits from search
Impressions — how often it was shown
Country and device — where discovery happened
Date — whether interest is growing

Weekly check

• queries gaining impressions;
• posts with impressions but few clicks;
• questions hidden inside longer queries;
• old posts that need a current example;
• one query worth turning into a carousel.

Know what the report measures

Google’s platform-property announcement describes Search performance, Insights, and Achievements reports for connected social accounts. These are Google discovery signals, not the platform’s own feed analytics.

Start with the metrics and filters available in your property. Record the reporting period, export the posts and queries you want to compare, and do not interpret an impression as a visit. Missing data is a reason to check the property and reporting window, not proof that nobody wants the topic.
